dynamo_hunter_a.. and here I didn't think we'd get it.. but at least I'm alive! :D
... man that was crazy.. I don't know where to begin.. let's just say.. various cars in Bismarck are now dented with hail.. even mine.
It was the whole... dark brown-grey clouds.. and sudden rain but the sun was still out and we're like.. whoa check out this crazy shit. We watched the clouds swirl about all low and fast to the ground.. then they turned dark grey-blue. Garbage was blowing all over. Off in the distance we saw a HUGE rainbow... could see it clear as day. Sharp and bright. and then another. Just as sharp, not as bright. We were getting a little worried, and then we could actually see the rain droplets forming the rainbow.. that was pretty cool. Then the wind picked up.. and we looked to the east where they're building Lowe's and Kohl's.. it was just a HUGE wall of dust. Couldn't even see the buildings.
... It began to rain harder.
Then we couldn't see the old bowling alley.. then Tropical Island disappeared... and then the grocery store.. Cracker Barrel.. and McDonald's were all engulfed in this HUGE downpour of rain... and shortly after there was this.. 'pink' sound.. and then 'pink pink'...
Insert HUGE downpour of.. not rain.. but HAIL. Hail varying from quarter size to nickle size.. saw a few chunks bigger as well. I couldn't even hear anyone talking, that's how much it was banging against the building.
Chad got everyone in the dining room away from the windows and into the center of the building.. the drive-thru employees locked the windows as the wind continued to change.
I have no clue what that was but it was CRAZY.
Best part was.. as soon as the rain started.. the thunderstorm warning for us -just- died..
